Whats new in version 13.0.4:
  • Bug Fixes:
  • The Multiple Sequence Alignment Editor “name” pane can now be resized much narrower to reduce white space when printing.
  • A crash when deleting the entire contents of the Annotations “Comments” section has been resolved.
  • The Align To Reference and Contig Editor Map tabs now calculate and display the selected range (bp) in the Range toolbar item.
  • Clicking to deselect in the Map tab when in “sequence select” mode no longer scrolls back to the top.
  • The Test Sequencing Primer function no longer crashes if multiple alternate binding sites are present in the target sequence.

Publisher review:
MacVector is an interesting piece of software developed for Molecular Biologists to simplify and speed up the analysis, manipulation, assembly and documentation of DNA and protein sequences.

It provides sequence editing, primer design, internet database searching, protein analysis, sequence confirmation, multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic reconstruction, coding region analysis, and a variety of other functions. MacVector is widely regarded as the most intuitive, easy to use program available for sequence analysis.

MacVector can read and write DNA and Protein sequences in most popular file formats. In addition to directly editing sequences and features/annotations, MacVector has an intuitive "Click Cloning" graphical interface that lets you easily replicate laboratory cloning experiments to create new molecules. MacVector uses the native Mac OS X Quartz graphics to generate publication quality images that can be scaled to any size with no loss of resolution.
